Denise Powell, LPCC
Denise Powell, LPCC, is a provisionally licensed professional counselor under the supervision of Dr. Erika Laing. She completed her clinical internship at Amavi and earned her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Adams State University. She comes from an interdisciplinary background that combines mental health and wellness, nonprofit, teaching, and educational technology. She also holds a Master of Science in Creative Technologies and Design for Social Impact from the University of Colorado- Boulder.
She values building strong relationships and strives for a deep understanding of each individuals’ unique perspective, background, needs, and challenges to help them reach their goals. She uses mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other therapeutic techniques, to address anxiety, trauma, ADHD, depression, and mood fluctuations, in an often overwhelming world.
Denise currently lives in Boulder, CO and likes to travel and spend time outdoors skiing and hiking with her two daughters.
