Emily (she/her/hers) is a passionate and trauma-informed Licensed Professional Counselor, driven to empower clients to create a life they deserve by processing trauma, developing effective coping skills, and finding meaning by utilizing evidence-based interventions and treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each client. Emily has been in practice since 2021, and previously worked at a community non-profit clinic in Dallas, TX that serves in restoring and empowering trafficked and sexually exploited women and teens.
Emily has significant experience working with a diverse population of adults, which has led to the development of a culturally competent approach and an appreciation for the significance of providing a safe and comfortable environment for clients to process. Emily is very straight-forward with clients while offering compassion, honesty, and humor and a therapeutic approach that is relational, strength-based, and holistic. She believes trust, motivation, and communication are key to a successful counseling experience.
Emily is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and also incorporates various therapeutic modalities such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment therapy, and mindfulness practices.
Emily graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Minor in Gerontology, and the University of North Texas with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
